Dapper Koala Buster Moon presides over a once-grand theater that has fallen on hard times. Facing the crumbling of his life's ambition, he takes one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former glory by producing the world's greatest singing competition. Five contestants emerge: Rosita, an overworked and underappreciated mother of 25 piglets desperate to unleash her inner diva; Ash, a punk rock porcupine with a beautiful voice behind her prickly exterior; Johnny, a young gangster gorilla looking to break free of his family's felonies; Mike, a greedy, self-centered mouse with a Napoleon complex, who’s saving grace is that he's also a classically trained jazz musician who sings like Sinatra; and Meena, a vocal powerhouse hidden inside a shy teenage elephant with a devastating case of stage fright. This is the third of five movies, sponsored by the Needham Free Public Library, in support of the 2018 Libraries Rock! Summer Reading Program.
