The community is invited to participate in the Town's Memorial Day observances Monday, May 30th. A ceremony will be held at Memorial Field at 11:45 am. Prior to the ceremony, observances will be held at various memorials around Town. The schedule is as follows:
8:15 am - Remembrance Event at the Public Safey Complex
9 am - St. Mary’s Cemetery. Includes a flag raising, rifle salute, wreath laying and short speaking program
9:45 am - Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Cefalo Drive. Includes a flag raising, rifle salute, wreath laying and short speaking program
10:30 am - Needham Cemetery. Includes a flag raising, rifle salute, wreath laying and short speaking program
11:15 am - Town Common. Includes a flag raising, rifle salute, wreath laying and short speaking program
11:45 am - Memorial Park. This ceremony also includes a student speaker, additional speakers and the above ceremonial activities.
The public is also invited to help place flags at the graves of Needham veterans Monday, May 23rd at 4 pm at Needham Cemetery (meet by the Cannon Statue) and Wednesday, May 25th at 4 pm at St. Mary’s Cemetery. For questions, email mtucker@needhamma.gov.
