On Tuesday, August 5th, the Needham Police Department will be hosting its second Annual National Night Out event on Town Common from 5-8 pm. National Night Out involves over 16,800 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases around the world. It is designed to:
Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts
Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back
National Night out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Come by on Tuesday evening to visit Officer Rocket and K9 Ghost, check out the police vehicles and a drone demonstration, and enjoy a treat from NPD’s ice cream truck. This is a free community event and all are welcome!
