The Town of Needham has learned of a scam targeting applicants with fraudulent emails requesting payment for application fees from the Planning and Community Development Department. These emails often use subject lines such as “Settlement Required – Application Approval Fee Invoice for Special Permit [property address].”
Please note: These emails and invoices are NOT from the Town of Needham.
The Planning Division will never ask for application fees by email or request wire transfers. All official payments are processed through proper Town channels, usually in person at the Planning and Community Development Department offices. If you receive an email like this, do not respond or send payment.
