We hope you all “weathered” Elsa’s storm. Unfortunately the Pools at RRC did not fare too well. During the storm yesterday, Rosemary Lake rose and flooded the pools. We had to shut down the pumps and filters in order to preserve them. Earlier this morning, we were able to get everything turned back on and have started the work to get the pools reopened. However, this will take longer than we would like. We will work over the weekend to rebalance the water chemistry. On Monday morning, we will have a water testing lab come out to take a sample of the pool water for a bacteria test. Once we receive notice that the results of the test are safe, which can take 3-4 days, we will reopen the pools. This means that the pools will not open until later this week-- Friday would be the earliest possible day for us to open.
If you have family time slots, lap swim, swim lessons or swim team registrations, we will reach out to you directly about our cancellation policies.
We will continue to update our website and social media pages throughout the week.
This is a frustrating situation for all of us, but we will push through and reopen the pools safely as soon as we are able. Thank you for your patience during this time. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at parkandrecreation@needhamma.gov.
