As September is National Preparedness Month, it’s a good time to make sure you’re signed up for the Town’s “Alert Needham” notification system. Needham residents and businesses can sign up to receive important emergency alert notifications and messages from Needham Emergency Services which can be sent to your cell phone, land line and email. Whether its information related to an evacuation or a shelter-in-place, or about protective measures you could take in response to a
wide range of emergencies - such as hazardous materials releases or infrastructure failures - these alerts will keep you updated in an emergency situation.
In addition, residents are encouraged to register with the Smart911 system. This nationwide program allows you to share the names of people in your household, including your pets, important medical information and information on how to access your home during an emergency. This information will assist emergency services if they are responding to a 911 call from you at your home.
It only takes a few minutes to sign-up for these systems and will greatly assist the Town’s public safety and emergency services!
