Domestic Violence Action Committee (DVAC)

DVAC Logo removed background

The Needham Domestic Violence Action Committee was established in 1996. Its mission is to raise awareness of the existence of domestic abuse, educate the community about prevention methods, and support those who are impacted by it. The goal of our work is to ensure that every individual feels safe within our community.

DVAC members come from many community organizations, including the health division, police department, and the Needham Community Council. We also have several Needham residents who are actively part of the work we do. We are always looking for more diverse perspectives and welcome you to join our monthly meetings, in person or on Zoom.

Domestic violence affects people in every community – regardless of gender identity, age, economic status, race, sexual orientation, nationality, ability, or religion. If you, or someone you know, is experiencing domestic abuse, we encourage you to call REACH Beyond Domestic Violence’s 24/7 hotline at 800-899-4000. It is a completely free and confidential resource for everyone impacted by abuse.

For more information about DVAC, the supports we have available, or how to get involved, reach out to Laura Duff at lduff@needhamma.gov or call the Public Health Division at 781-455-7940
