The Teen Dating Violence Program is facilitated by Needham Youth Services (formerly known as the Needham Youth Commission) in collaboration with Needham High School. This seminar provides all ninth grade students a forum to raise awareness and to discuss the many issues surrounding teen dating violence.
The Teen Dating Violence Seminar is a 90-minute interactive workshop, which investigates:
- How and why domestic / teen dating violence is a huge problem in our society
- How history, the media, and our own families impact how gender stereotypes are developed and how they contribute to abusive relationships
- Warning signs of abusive relationships
- Why people stay in abusive relationships and learn obstacles for leaving
