Volunteer Program

Council on Aging Board Member

Your appointment to the Council on Aging gives you the opportunity to become increasingly involved with issues affecting the lives of elder citizens and their families. We look to you to be an advocate for aging issues in your community and for advancing a positive image of this segment of our population.

Your commitment and dedication are vital to ensuring adequate public knowledge and support of Council on Aging programs and activities. At minimum members attend monthly, evening, board meetings from September through June, and we ask that you commit to keeping well informed about issues pertinent to successfully meeting our goals. For information, please contact Executive Director LaTanya Steele at 781-455-7555, ext. 208 or at lsteele@needhamma.gov.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Council on Aging department has a small paid staff, but we have many volunteers who give generously of their time and effort so that we can offer a broad program of activities and services. We encourage you to consider volunteering. Some volunteer jobs are:

  • Staffing our Boutique
  • Group leader
  • Group teacher
  • Kitchen support
  • Newsletter collator or proof reader
  • Receptionist
  • Transportation and deliveries
  • Various clerical jobs

Volunteer opportunities can be created to suit your interests. If you're interested in volunteering, please fill out this volunteer application and someone will contact you. For more information call Jessica Moss at 781-455-7555, ext. 212 or email her at jmoss@needhamma.gov
